Film & TV

Traditionally scenery is built at film studios in workshops allocated by production and then assembled on each stage as needed. These set are then struck as they are completed, either to be disposed of or to be pack struck and stored for future use offsite. A construction manager, again traditionally supplies all construction labour and tools to production.

In recent years there has been a trend toward construction companies taking part or all of the construction budget on a price but generally it is more of a hybridised form of price work due to the dramatic "change of plans" inherent in film work. At London Scenery we pride ourselves in being able to adapt to the needs and indeed the scale of all productions.

In addition we have ample experience of other media formats, such as advertising, TV, events and online content. This has led to a culture of adaptability with scalable labour supply, workspace and the use of outside technology to deal with the unpredictability of all media industries.

Brands we've worked with include

CLIENT WORK VIRGIN MEDIA

Virgin Media asked us to create a Minority Report control panel and gloves, spoofing the film to introduce a new gameshow presented by Chris Tarrant.

CLIENT WORK MOUNT GAY

Mount Gay wanted a touring “rum shack” that could be assembled dozens of times in a few weeks by their front of house team and taken down to fit in a van easily but that retained a beach shack feel.

Events

It is increasingly important to push the boundaries of experiential marketing by carefully crafting environments. Our experience in Film and TV gives us the advantage when it comes to telling your story. Cinematic quality is what you should expect and what London Scenery provides with its builds!

We create immersive spaces that feel real, we build space ships, pirate ships, fish & chip shops and pop up shops. We fabricate ancient ruins, New York brownstones, tribal huts in Yemen and Alpine lodges in Acton. We also create smaller artefacts for press stunts and Viral gags.

We've hung people out of airplanes, built a car wash manned by Barbie dolls, a flame thrower held by a cuddly toy, set the world record for bottle dominos, faked elevators and created self-propelled talking bins. We've also whacked up high gloss catwalks and temporary walls aplenty.

We are accustomed to handling large format graphics, dozens of custom product displays, thousands of light bulbs and millions of mosaic tiles. If you don’t know how to do something, please assume we do.
